Drywall - Part 1

The one task that I waited months to finally see the upstairs come together was hanging the drywall. It all started with a delivery of 50 sheets of  5/8" sheet rock. Considering parts of the house are quite out from plumb and level, the 5/8" will take to walls and ceiling better than 1/2" and be less prone to damage while installing. After all, if you are going to do anything, you might as well do it right (and the heaviest way possible).

Due to the spacial limitations of the house, we were only able to use 8'-0" sheets
rather than the preferable 10'-0". That coupled with 7''-4 ceilings, every other
piece of sheet rock had to be cut down, leading to a few more seems.

Other than my Milwaukee portable light (no affiliation with Milwaukee, just a love for their tools - but I will take sponsorship and free tools if offered by them. Jokes aside - EMAIL ME), my second best tool purchase was a drywall lift. The number of chiropractic services and headaches saved were worth the cost, mind you it was quite reasonable (purchased from amazon, it is not perfect, but worked great!) I can not recommend it enough if you are remodeling a large ceiling area.

Will there be another delivery of 50 sheets of drywall!
Will we need another bucket of screws?
And how much tape and mud will we need!?!
Until next time!
