The Kitchen
One of the first projects my fiancee was eager to begin was to repaint the kitchen cabinets as they were an unfortunate shade of green with yellow accents. It was shortly thereafter that we found out how much of a chore it was going to be with endless sanding and the five coats of paint it took to cover what was there.
As our house is always in a state of constant work, so is our kitchen. So no fancy magazine photos of a clean kitchen here.
I was able to find some pretty affordable handles and pulls for the kitchen that had a nice aged bronze finish that matched the barn lights over the island.
A project left for a later time (maybe winterr) is the backslash. We plan on installing unfinished tin ceiling tiles under the cabinets and behind the stove. A sneak peak of that is above.
While looking on craigslist for things I don't need, I came across a great deal on a Kitchenaide double oven that we could not pass up. One glance from the fiancee and she was on board even though she had no idea what her car would be in for. After we paid for the oven, and pulled it out of the garage and nearer to the car, we realized it may not fit (An important detail to this story is that we have a 4 door hatchback, not a suv or pickup). After a little trial and error we were able to get the oven into the car, well 3/4 of it. From there we tied down the hatch as best we could and began our half hour journey home. It was a slow drive with multiple stops to readjust and secure various things, but we did make it home. So begun the demo and install of the double oven (that is to be hooked up soon, sorry hunny)

Note: the bottom left photo that has our to do list that I wrote down when we bought the house. Since then I have checked off the important ones and complete enough projects to make a few more of those. We highly recommend doing it at the start, its greatly motivating, and if you have to, write it directly onto a wall that will have work done in the future, you can literally take it down with a hammer.
