Winter Fast Forward

I am quite surprised to see just how long it has been since I have written here. I am not sure if it was the woes of winter or the business of the holidays and beyond, what I do know is that I am back! We have been very busy the last couple weeks kicking back into gear with the business and a few other life changes. And by the way Baxter is doing great!

 

I am not sure where to start, so I am just going to jump in. Probably one of the biggest updates of the late fall was our long awaited move to our upstairs master bedroom! We're still a ways off from finishing it, but it feels great.

All it took was blowing 100 bags of insulation into the attic! 8 hours of a jump suit, respirator, ear plugs, a trooper of a wife, and dust, and we were done! It sure does stay warmer up there with 20+ inches or R-60ish insulation.

With a busy season of catering coming up, it was about time to finish wiring the oven. I must say, had I known how nice it was, I would have done this months ago

Farm updates: After a couple month egg laying struggle, we added a new rooster and the hens are steadily laying again! 6 to 8 eggs a day! The ducks took a break during the darkest and coldest weeks of winter, but just started laying a consistent 3 to 4 eggs a day.
