The Garden

One of the first projects I was eager to complete was to build and install 6 raised garden beds. Before we finalized the purchase, I had eagerly started over 200 plants that set waiting for a home.

We built the boxes out of 2" x 8" x 10'-0" boards and stapled garden fabric to the underside to help control weeds from below. Next came the long process of 20+ wheel barrel loads of soil up and down are slopping yard to fill the boxes. 

We were able to scavenge all the material for the fence from around the property

By the middle of summer we had a nice crop of fresh tomatoes, peppers, peas, cucumbers, eggplant, squash, and a few pumpkins.
