Baxter the Protector

We have been planning on getting a puppy around spring and have been actively looking at breeds for months when I stumbled upon one that was exactly what we were looking for. On our way to Buffalo for New Years, we got a message telling us we could come look at the puppies. It did not take long to realize he was for us. They were willing to hold him until Monday so we could get him on the way home.

We had always planned on getting either a English Springer Spaniel, or a Australian Shepard, Heeler, or Border Collie mix. This handsome little man fit the bill, a 9 week old Border Collie/Heeler mix. With a lovely mother, and great big sister, we are excited to see the dog that he becomes.
.

It has taken him a little while to open up to us, but he is slowly making progress. Its a big, bright change going from an Amish farm to our little homestead.

There was a puppy in this pen when I left for work, and to my surprise it was lacking one when I returned for lunch. He will certainly be an adventure, and a great one at that.
